Hyper
(Heritage,Young Persons & Elderly Residents) is a 12 month calendar of events supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The Colliers Wood Residents Association, The Association for Polish Families, Wimbledon Woodcraft Folk
and Sustainable Merton
came together to form a partnership of community groups in 2016 with the common aim of delivering the Hyper project.
It's purpose is to enable young people to explore first hand the lives and stories of those children who were evacuated from the local area of Colliers Wood in South West London as part of Operation Pied Piper in 1939.
In addition, we have learned about life and growing up in the 1940's during WWII both in London and the Home counties.
Our research has allowed us to gain access to a wealth of knowledge about diet and rationing whilst trying our hand at cooking and growing your own fruit & vegetables.
